The Nobel Prize was awarded to C. R. Bertozzi, M. Meldal and K. B. Sharpless “for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry”.
Click chemistry is a new and systematic way of building molecules by snap together molecular building blocks. The jewelry shows the crown jewel of click chemistry, triazole, the product of the copper catalysed azide-alkyne cycloaddition.
