I have designed and formed silver jewelry inspired by the Nobel Prize 2018 in Physics. The laser pulse in the form of a necklace, earrings and most recently as a jacket pin/brooch.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2018 was awarded to Gérard Mourou and Donna Strickland “for their method of generating high-intensity, ultra-short optical pulses.”

The silver necklace shows the antihistamine diphenhydramine.

It is mainly used to treat allergies.

Pendant of isoniazid in Sterling silver with the three N atoms as silver balls and the O atom as a gold ball (18K).

Isoniazid is an antibiotic used for the treatment of tuberculosis.

The silver necklace shows the three-dimensional structure of the fluorescent protein GFP. A protein that exhibits bright green fluorescence when exposed to light in the blue to ultraviolet range. This protein has become an important tools used in contemporary bioscience.

“The discovery and development of the green fluorescent protein, GFP” was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2008.

There are high levels of grass pollen in the air.

The silver necklaces show the three dimensional structures of the pollen proteins Phl p 2, Phl p 5b and Phl p 7 from timothy.

The silver jewelry shows the three dimensional structure of Troponin I, Troponin T & Troponin C.

Troponin is a complex of the three proteins Troponin I, Troponin T and Troponin C. They are involved in muscle contraction in skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle. Heart specific Troponin I and Troponin T are used as diagnostic markers for myocardial infarction.
