The silver protein for December is Atg1. Atg1 is an important protein in autophagy, a process for degrading and recycling cellular components.The discovery of the autophagy mechanism was awarded  2016 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.

All light on Uppsala

Exhibition during “All light on Uppsala” at Galleri Upsala including silver protein structures, high speed photography and photosynthesis by researchers at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology in cooperation with Frozen Time Images Photography.
